In a recent interview with Radio Infinita , the founder of Amamantas shared the story behind this Chilean brand that today leads the maternity products market with design, functionality, and awareness.

It all started with a belly… and an unmet need

In 2013, during her prenatal period, the founder of Amamantas began searching for pregnancy and postpartum products. However, she found a market saturated with useful but unstylish items, lacking a visual identity or offerings designed for women who want to maintain their essence after becoming mothers.

“I said, wow, what a drag… I'm going to be a mom and I'm going to lose all my style,” she recalled during the interview.

For her, style wasn't synonymous with fashion, but with authenticity. She looked for products that reflected who she was. But what she found were black, rigid, undifferentiated baby carriers.

A revealing moment: the Baby Expo

That same year, she attended the Baby Expo at CasaPiedra for the first time. There she found what she was looking for: handmade products, emerging brands, unique offerings... and a highly engaged audience.

“The moms were buying like crazy. So was I. They'd offer me something, and I'd say, 'Yes, give it to me.'”

It was then that she identified a great opportunity: new mothers are powerful, determined, and demanding consumers . That was the starting point for dreaming of her own project.

This is how Amamantas was born

For years, the idea was shelved. But in the midst of the pandemic, working from home and without stock, she decided to submit her business for a purchase order. Against all odds, she was chosen by Walmart. Thus was born Amamantas , a brand created from a mother's intuition, which is now a strong presence in Líder, Falabella, Infanti, and even in the United States .

An enterprise with a purpose

Amamantas not only offers functional, beautiful, and sustainable products. It's also a brand that supports women in the transformation of motherhood, without having to give up their identity. Every piece, every design, and every choice reflects a purpose: to create motherhood with style, through awareness and love.
